Beat Up Toilet Bowl Trout
We try really hard to focus on the positive at Colorado Fly Fishing Mag, but occasionally you see something so sad that you have to share it in the hope that maybe you can get through to a few people to help a situation. Not sure if it was the intention of the guy shooting the video to show just how beat up the trout are in the Toilet Bowl section of the Frying Pan, but these fish are in pretty poor condition. Almost all of the damage caused because of fishing pressure. Maybe it's time to give those poor creatures a break? Thinking about creating a petition to close that section of river, or close it for a short time during the spawn seasons. Not sure how much spawning actually goes on in that pool, but fished are always susceptible during that time of year, and its a good enough excuse to close it for a short period. Watch the video and let me know what you think?

start closer to home and close sections of the dream during spawning season. They do it on the reef, on the north fork of the Shoshone, etc. etc. Toilet bowl doesn't look like spawning habitat to me, but should be closed anyway.
