Fly Fishing Bachelor Party Guide Trip

Short Video of a Cutbow Landed in Hartsel - August 2014

Kristen shot some video of me landing a decent cutbow in the town of Hartsel. The trout fell victim to a size 12 olive Amy's Ant, as did many other fish in the few hours we were there. In fact, the only sound other than the river mixed with cars passing by on highway 24, was the distinct clicking noise of a large hopper's wings. Tis the season! The video also has Bree looking adorable in her waders and Colorado buff, so I figured i'd put together a quick clip to one of my favorite new songs by Rebelution. Because if you turn on the news it becomes apparent that the world needs more love.

Every once in a while we are so inspired by something that we have to share it, even if it's not Colorado related. These Geobass guys are in Columbia chasing huge peacock bass, and it looks like no fun at all... Until, that is, they start catching ginormous huge bass! This is ridiculous on so many levels. They are using 40-60 lb test and 10 wt. rods, and are still getting abused by these powerful fish. Check it out!

Colorado Chill

I took Ruben and his brother fishing after thanksgiving on the tail-end of a massive cold front, and he expressed an interest in shooting a video with his go pro camera. I made sure to keep the clients happy, so I brought my cameras, and a few weeks after the trip I was able to send him what I shot -not that he needed it. The fishing was really slow that day, so there's limited fish porn, but what he did in editing was really cool! Even cooler is the effort that he put into just making a short video. I had to give him a shout out, and share this with you guys, so here it is...

Video of Today's Guide Trip Adventure 8-7-13

Had a blast today with fellow guides Dave Herber and Greg Blessing on a corpo trip! The group we took fishing were a lot of fun, and they managed to pick things up quickly which made for an easy day despite the rain. Dave likes to make video/slideshows for clients on a lot of his trips with the photos and video that he takes during the course of the day, and he does a great job with it. There's a pretty classic photo that Dave took of me with my clients throwing up deuces and the video finished strong with a gangster nod at the end. We think it shows how much fun we've been having on these trips, and I had to share it with you guys and gals! Thanks for putting the work into making the video Dave! Here it is...

Opening Day Video Madness!

Hey everyone check out this video we put together from what little filming we did of opening day on Spinney Reservoir. It was shot in it's entirety with gen 1 gopro cameras and a few still shots with our DSLR. There is a slight hiccup during a part of a clip where I panned in on Kristen's reel, but other than that the process went smooth. I'd go so far as to say that making this video was almost as fun as the fishing during opening day, so we hope you all enjoy it! Epic Time Lapse Fail

We went to Garden of the Gods the other morning to try and capture some epic time lapse photography of Pikes Peak which is something I really want to include in future videos, and it didn't turn out the way we wanted.  We plan on sharing more of these type cut clips with you guys to show how much work it really is to accomplish some of the things we want to accomplish, and hopefully eventually have a finished product that we are happy with, and will get people excited about fishing here in Colorado.  Two things happened that morning that were working against us.

First is that I didn't clean the lens so there is dust in the video.  It is especially important to make sure the  the lens is clean before shooting with unlimited depth of field, which we were...  The next thing that was working against us was the weather.  When we started shooting the clouds were doing some crazy things over the Peak and we tried to time it so that at some point during the clip Pikes Peak would show it's freshly snow covered face, and it never did.  Still it never gets old watching clouds roll over Colorado's beautiful mountains so we at Coloradoflyfisher wanted to share.

Kokanee Release Footage Short

Here is a short video of Kristen releasing some Kokes on the Gunni.  The footage was taken pre stabilizer rig, and pre underwater focus correcting housing for the gopro.  So it's not as stable as we would like and the focus underwater is half of what it's going to be in about a week, but we figured we'd share anyways.  Hope you enjoy!
